My sincere condolences to Daniela's family. I had the fortune to be Daniela's colleague as an FSL teacher. She was always innovative and hardworking. Daniela was my daughter's grade 7 teacher more than 20 years ago. When away overnight on a class trip, my daughter fell ill and Daniela stayed up all night with her. In the morning Daniela carried on with no sleep with the rest of the kids. As a mother, I was so very grateful for such a caring and selfless teacher.

Daniela was my principal at Gregory Hogan. As a teacher, I always felt supported by Daniela. I very much appreciated having her as a principal. I knew if there was anything I needed, I would be met with an attentive and pragmatic ear. I saw how deeply she cared about the students and her staff. She had a sharp sense of humor which helped to make light of stressful and chaotic situations. My deepest condolences to all of the Mezzatesta family. Rest in peace Daniela and thank you for all that you have given to the staff and students of SCCDSB!

Daniela lived her professional life, reflective of the Catholic Principals of Ontario Prayer. But, one line in particular shone brightly describing her journey- "Make us sensitive to the gifts of others, enabling them to enrich our school communities....we dedicate ourselves to excellence in education, respect for the dignity of all persons and the sanctity of creation.
Daniela touched the lives of many. May the memories shared be prayers for her, simply because they loved her.
My sincere condolences and sympathy to the Mezzatesta and Stirpe Families.

Retired CPCO Member

Dear Dani, Marisa, and Renzo,
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on your great loss. Daniela was always a bright light wherever she was. I have so many wonderful memories of her as a part of my life throughout our teenage and young adult years. I was always so happy when our families would gather for Sunday visits at my great aunt and uncle's house, and us cousins would go across the street to Zi Claudia and Zio Vince's house to play our favourite Italian music, and dance the afternoon away. I loved watching her and Dani's relationship develop from sweethearts, to a beautiful wedding day, and obviously a wonderful 32 years of marriage. She was my cherished bridesmaid as well. I always admired her career, and vocation as an educator, and only heard wonderful things about her from students and families that also attended music lessons at my former workplace. She was loved.and respected by all.
I hope countless memories with her can bring you peace, strength during this sad time, and eventually, even a smile, knowing how much joy she brought to so many. She is now with her Lord, and her beloved father, and will be the most beautiful angel, who will watch over you all, every moment of every day from here on. I am holding you all in my heart, with thoughts and prayers to get through this together.
May God bless you all, and may flights of angels sing her to her rest.
With love and sincere sympathy,
Paula Rocco

I had the pleasure of working with Daniela as a principal and on the principal counsel. She was always so knowledgeable and insightful. I found myself reaching out to her throughout the years to work through school level decisions and she was never too busy to provide guidance. Daniela’s humour and witty comments always made us smile. She will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family and school staff. Rest in peace Daniela.

I am so saddened to hear of Daniella's passing. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was the type of person who always made you smile. Daniella was always a pleasure to compare notes on life with. Whether we were discussing what online greeting card site to use, or comparing notes on how our moms were doing, our conversations always ended up making me smile.
On behalf of my mother, Giuseppina, and myself, please accept our most heartfelt and deepest condolences. We know this is a tremendous loss to you but take some comfort in knowing that she will always be your side, watching over you from Heaven. Praying for you all at this difficult time.
