My favorite memory of Corrie revolved around Thanksgiving Days at Aunt Tootie's house on Comite Drive when we were kids. We had sort of a friendly competition on who could serve up (arrange) the most beautiful plate of food that included every dish at our disposal. These days the cooking shows refer to it as "plating". Each of us would proclaim, "My Masterpiece". I always think of him every Thanksgiving.
I always knew Corrie had a brilliant mind with the ability to recall volumes of facts in great detail. I wish I had had the chance to spend more time getting to know the man on a personal level. May God our Father comfort all those who feel the void of his absence.

Wherever my uncle went, laughter was sure to follow. He was the master of pulling brightness out of the darkest places. Regardless of how sour or tense the mood was, my uncle would make it lighter. He could bring smiles to the saddest faces, so it only makes sense that he parted with one final, morbid joke.
I never knew my first godfather. He passed when I was a baby. A few years ago, my Uncle Coco and Aunt Paula offered to become my new godparents, seeing as though I had lived the majority of my life without any. He was a doting, loving godfather. I couldn’t have asked for a better one. But I can hear him laughing now, saying, “Ha, godfatherless once again. I guess you just weren’t supposed to have one. 0 for 2. You’re shit outta luck, kid.”
I know he’ll continue to drag that brightness with him, whether it’s by the hand or by the ear. It’ll follow him either way, but I suppose he’d have more fun with the latter.
I love you forever
-your sweet girl

The last time I saw my uncle in person was many years ago during the holidays. I remember talking political philosophy with him, quipping back and forth sarcastically. I remember him from my childhood as well, always witty. He was a man with a robust sense of humor, and he gave good counsel. I regret not keeping in touch with this man who so greatly loved my grandmother, his mother.
I offer my most sincere condolences to those who loved him, and continue to love him. May he rest in peace, united now with his mother who he loved so dearly.

To the best big brother ever. From teaching me to read, helping clean up my toys, and putting up with my incessant desire to follow you everywhere -you have forever marked my life in all the best ways. I am so grateful for the all too-short time we were all blessed with your brilliant, sarcastic, witty and loving self! You will forever be missed but never forgotten. Love you Coco!

Paula and family
I have no words to express how deeply sorry I am that you have lost someone so very special to you. Paula, the love you have always carried for one another will keep guiding you through the difficult times. If there is one thing I have learned about death, is that our loved ones are always with us if we are open to seeing and accepting their signs. Corrie will always be with you all every day and will let you feel his presence when you need it the most. On behalf of myself and my mother, please accept our deepest sympathies. Sending love, prayers and hugs to you.
