Obituary of Shirley Ann Wensel

WENSEL (Hooper), Shirley Ann – Shirley passed away peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Joseph. Dear mother of the late James Hanna, Marina Cooper (Tommy), Sonya Hartley D’Odorico and Michael D’Odorico (Michelle). Step-mother of Bonita Gammon (Robert) and Marian Mailey. Also surviving are many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sister of Pauline Shackleton (late Bill) and aunt of Dale & Gay Hooper. Predeceased by parents Evirvine and Myrtle Hooper, siblings Edna Timmerman (Reny), Marian Murphy (John), Helen Hooper, Russell Hooper, Roland Hooper (Betty Anne), Don Hooper (Rose) and William Hooper.  Also predeceased by Marina’s children Steven Saunders, Christopher Dunn and Tommy Lynn Cooper.

At Shirley’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 12-12:45 p.m. The memorial service will follow immediately in the chapel at 1 P.M.  As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to The Alzheimer’s Society, 420 N.
