Obituary of Omer Joseph Gagne

GAGNE, Omer – Omer passed away among loved ones at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Anne for 69 years. Dear father of Paul Gagne (Michele) and Julie Gagne (Hugh). Loving grandfather of Katarina (Pat), Jessica (Andrew), Teaghan (Zeke), Quinton and Alyssa. Great-grandfather of Elowyn. Brother of Leo Gagne (Julie). He will also be missed by Andrea and Jason and many other nieces and nephews. Omer was a former trustee on the separate school board and a past president of the Ontario Separate School Trustees Association. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club, semi-retired accountant (at 92!!). Omer was a teacher of the value of common sense. He was a devout catholic and his faith was very important to him. He also volunteered for many years at St. Vincent de Paul. Omer was also the world’s best whistler.

Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Monday from 5-7 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Tuesday, December 3 at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 106 S.
