Obituary of Walter Bucci
BUCCI, Walter – Peacefully surrounded by his family, Walter passed away at Bluewater Health on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Lana (nee Sterling) for 44 years. Loving brother of Louisa Anna Muto & her husband Mauro, Michigan. Adored Zio of Enrico Muto (fiancé Kori McQuaid), Nina Smorch (Neil) and Valentina Muto all of Michigan and Rodney (Carla) Sterling, Arizona and Pamela Hubbard, South Dakota. Brother-in-law, Lambert Sterling II, Arizona. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews and many cousins in Italy and Hamilton.
Walter was born September 6, 1942, to Alfredo Bucci and Antonina (Pacifici) Bucci in Gagliano Aterno, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1957. Walter took pleasure in attending his nieces and nephews sporting events, dance recitals, graduations and weddings. He enjoyed socializing, playing scopa and Bocci with friends at the Bocciodromo.
Walter was a pipefitter at Dow Chemical for 31 years. He became a member of the Dante Club in 1967 and served in many capacities, as well as of the Knights of Columbus.
Walter enjoyed golfing and woodworking. He also enjoyed cooking and creating his specialty recipes. He has made homemade wine since he was 13, first with his Papa, and this year he passed this tradition on to his nephew, Enrico and friend, Kareem.

Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-9 pm where prayers will be offered at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 9th at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 566 Rosedale Avenue, Sarnia.
