Obituary of James Cameron Lanskail
LANSKAIL, James Cameron, (Jim) B.A, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C), F.A.C.S. (January 26, 1923-April 16, 2016). It is with sadness that the family of James Cameron Lanskail announce his passing on April 16, 2016 in Sarnia, ON, yet we are grateful for the 93 years he had on this earth. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, "Kenny", grandson Stephen, sister Mildred, and brother Donald. He will be remembered fondly by his children: Margaret-Anne, Betty (George), Janie (Ron), Cathie (Darryl), and Jim (Jeanne), 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Dad enjoyed a fulfilling life. Practicing surgery in Toronto, followed by accreditation work when he retired, along with his many and varied activities and family life made our dad a happy man. He enjoyed travelling, bridge, curling and golf and was an active member of the United Church of Canada. His love for his family and his deep, abiding faith in the Lord sustained him all the years of his life. Dad will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Central United Church, 220 George St., Sarnia. In lieu of flowers, Jim has asked all of you to do a good deed for someone in memory of him. Please share these deeds in the book of condolences. Many thanks to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor who cared for dad and helped to make the Manor his home. Arrangements entrusted to McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Sarnia 519-344-3131. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
