Obituary of Hartfried Hentschel
HENTSCHEL, Hartfried “Hart” – Hartfried died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Bear Creek Terrace, Petrolia at the age of 92. Beloved partner of the late Eliza Gruening. Loving friend of Manfred & Susan Gruening and their children Elizabeth (Jason) Hay and Peter (Shanon) Gruening.
Born on January 2, 1931, in Germany and then moved as a small boy to East Africa to a plantation with his parents. When the war started, they moved back to Germany where Hart decided to immigrate to Canada after the war.
Hart had an interest in cars which led him to become an auto mechanic by trade and eventually he became part owner of AutoHaus Honda in Sarnia until his retirement. Hart loved history and was a member of the historical society in Sarnia. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church on Indian Rd., Sarnia.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 3 – 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27th at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Indian Rd. Interment will follow at Irwin Cemetery, Sarnia.
