Obituary of Ernest Archibald Somers

SOMERS, Ernest – Ernest passed away peacefully at Afton Park Place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Jean for 70 years. Dear father of Jacqueline Blake (late Ron) and Kathleen Stoddart (Scott). Loving Grandpa of Michael (Sandra), Corrina, Cameron and Jonathon. Great-grandfather of James. Predeceased by parents Archibald and Isabella Somers and brother Douglas. Ernest was a chemist at Dow Chemical retiring in 1993. He was a long-time member of Lions International, receiving the Melvin Jones and Helen Kellar awards.  At Ernest’s request, cremation has taken place and no service will held at this time.
